ShareBase Documentation
ShareBase is a high-performance, peer-to-peer file sharing platform. No cloud storage, no limits, just pure speed. We've reimagined file sharing by combining P2P privacy with cloud-level reliability.
Ultra Fast
Direct WebRTC connection bypasses servers for maximum possible bandwidth.
Private
Files never touch our servers. They transfer directly from your device to theirs.
No Limits
Share files of any size without worrying about cloud storage caps or subscriptions.
Getting Started
Transferring files with ShareBase is designed to be as seamless as possible. No account required.
1. Sending a File
On the homepage, click "Send File". Select your files, and ShareBase will generate a unique 6-digit key for you.
Pro Tip: Keep the browser tab active and avoid closing it during the transfer process.
2. Sharing the Key
Share the 6-digit key with the recipient. This key establishes a secure, encrypted link between both devices.
3. Receiving a File
The recipient enters the key on the "Receive" page and clicks connect. The transfer begins instantly bit-by-bit.
The Hybrid Sharing Model
ShareBase uses a "Best of Both Worlds" approach. We utilize direct P2P for speed and fallback to cloud signaling only for establishing connections.
P2P Efficiency
Direct data flow for zero-latency transfers and hardware-limited speeds.
Cloud Signaling
Encrypted signaling helps devices find each other even behind strict NATs.
Technology Stack
WebRTC
Direct UDP-like connections for maximum throughput and reliability.
E2EE (AES-256)
Data is encrypted in the browser and remains unreadable to anyone else.
Signaling
Real-time coordination ensures seamless handshakes between global peers.
Privacy Policy
Zero-knowledge is our baseline. We don't store your files, we don't track your content, and we can't see what you share.
Do you store any logs?
We log connection metadata for technical stability, but file data never passes through or stays on our servers.
No Artificial Limits
Since we don't use cloud storage, we don't need to limit you. Send 10GB or 1TB; as long as both devices stay online, the transfer will succeed.
FAQ
Is it completely free?
Yes, P2P transfers are free. We may offer premium relay services for extremely restricted networks in the future.
Why did my transfer fail?
Most failures are due to network firewalls or the sender closing their tab too early.
Troubleshooting
- Try disabling VPNs if connection fails.
- Ensure both peers are using modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge).
- Check if your browser allows WebRTC connections.
